Pulp Funktion @ GLASSWORKS

"Oh, I'm Sorry. Did I Break You're Concentration?"

by Shoot the Messenger aka Hallie and Aron

for better or worse, in the Velocity...

there was a striking similarity between our artwork completed Saturday, April 14...
and this fool's work on Monday the 16th

the unfortunate thing (besides the obvious tragedy),
is that we don't even like tarantino and his spectacle of bloodbaths, sex, and drugs...
which is why we mockingly used a completely irrelevant quote by Mumia Abu Jamal.

more irony arises surrounding the title "Oh, I'm Sorry. Did I Break Your Concentration?" and
the incredible fact that the shootings took place in the "sanctuary" of the classroom.

apparently people at glassworks complained and had the gallery's
glass doors and windows covered. a related question keeps popping up,
"how is it that this (obviously terrible event) is offensive enough
that people will have art veiled from visibility?"

why is it that this image is so unacceptable in light of dozens dying
daily in iraq in a similar violent fashion? would anyone have complained
about the presence of blood and gore otherwise?

and why is it that art must be covered up?
why is it the "art" that is found to be offensive?
especially when the courier-journal leads with these images on their front page on 4/19.
